Nora's trip to the ER

Nora had been running a fever on and off for a few days, along with making frequent trip to the bathroom:( At first we thought she might of eaten something she shouldn't of (she has been dairy-free since February) or she had something that was going around? She hadn't been herself since Wednesday and it was now the weekend. When the girl asks us to put her to bed for a nap, you know something is wrong!

Her diarrhea got worse and she may or may not have had blood in it. I went ahead and called tell-a-nurse to see if I should take her to prompt care before they closed. She recommended just that. We were the only ones there and Nora did not seem like herself.  They wanted us to go to the bathroom to get a sample and only blood came out...which bought us a ticket straight to the emergency room:( They wouldn't even tell me what it could be, just to leave now.

It was late by the time we got to the ER and boy is it interesting on a Saturday night! After getting checked in, Nora had to go to the bathroom and it was then that I panicked for the first time. There was blood everywhere! After telling the front desk, they took me straight to a room and the nurse came right in. Nora looked really white and out of it. Of course she didn't want the doctor to do anything when he came in (usually she's good, thanks to doc mcstuffins) but after examining her, he said she didn't need surgery tonight (I'm thinking...hmm that's great but that thought didn't even cross my mind! Phew!) and that there appeared to be no internal bleeding. From there, they tried to give her fluids but they were unsuccessful trying to find a vein that would take. Poor baby:(  They were able to get blood work via her thumb for tests so that was good. My mom met us at the hospital. I still felt awful so it was nice having her there. We were sent home very late that night and were told to follow up with her pediatrician in the beginning of the week. The next day we had Nolan's two birthday parties, so I was happy to see my bed when I got home!

We followed up with her pediatrician and they took her blood again and ran a bunch of tests. The tests came back by Wednesday morning (Nolan's bday) and they wanted to get us into see a specialist that afternoon. They also told us not to be surprised if they want to keep her over night so to pack a bag. What?! Not exactly what you want to do on your son's birthday but we went ahead and did our morning/lunch plans with the birthday boy at Chuckie Cheese.

When we got to the specialist, they told us she didn't seem as bad as the tests were showing and they wanted to retest her. Nora was not happy because they had to draw her blood again:( The next day we had to take stool samples at home which showed that she had an infection in her intestines.  They also found that she was allergic to milk, egg whites and dustmites. After two weeks of strong antibiotics, she seemed to be doing a lot better! There is still one thing they need to test for when we follow up that was not normal on her tests.

I'm hoping we can start to introduce dairy again by the end of the year. Since last December, she has been having issues and I'm not a doctor but I think she might have had the infection since then? They said it could be possible or she could have gotten it when the fever hit. Either way, it is good to know that she's getting better!

First Sonogram for Baby #3! June 12, 2015

We had to anxiously wait until I was 10 weeks to go to our first appointment! Finding out that we were pregnant at 5 weeks, this 5 week wait seemed like forever!!!

My morning sickness (I call it all day and night sickness) started right at 5 1/2 weeks:( It didn't matter what time it was, I got sick when I woke up, during the day and even when I got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night! This pregnancy was the worst in terms of getting sick, being tired and not having any energy. It might of had something to do with the two little ones running around? Whatever the reason, we slowed life down A LOT and it was kinda nice.

Cravings: spicy chicken sandwich and breakfast sandwiches from Hardee's, crab ragoon, mini sugar donut holes (which was sometimes all I could keep down, weird) and shepherd's pie from D'Arcy's.

Baby #3 is measuring 3 days earlier (bigger) than the due date but they are still sticking with January 8th. Nolan and Nora both measured later (smaller) than the due date.

Baby #3 heart beats per minute are 185.

Mr. CFP

I am so excited to announce that Ryan has passed his CFP and added a few more letters behind his name!!!

All of his hard work has really paid off! His countless hours of studying, classes and time away from us has all been worth it. Congrats Ryan! We are so proud of you!!!

Nora Update: 2 1/2 years old

Nora is two and a half and I can't believe how big my baby is getting! (She was 2.5 on April 30th...I must not of hit publish!)

She wants to twirl all the time.

Big girl braid!

Still struggling with naps.

Still quite the mature little girl.

First pedicure

Returning from my hiatus...with some exciting news!

My last post was forever ago and a LOT has happened since then! I was just getting on top of the blog when I started to not feel good.

We left for Florida on a family trip for ten days and when we returned on Mother's Day, I took a pregnancy test...and it was positive!!! Talk about a great mother's day gift! We are beyond excited about baby number three and can't wait to meet him or her!

Now that I finally feel like myself, I will start blogging again! Get ready for a flood of "memories & milestones!"

Happy Easter

Easter this year had beautiful weather, good family times and too much candy for the kids (that last part I tried to control but they kept finding candy every place we went=sugar high for the day!)

We decided to go to the later mass so we wouldn't be rushed and could enjoy the morning. The Easter Bunny came and the kids were so excited to find the eggs he hid!

I even had time before mass to get a few pictures... but they wouldn't sit by each other:( I should have know this was a sign mass wouldn't go well. Usually our kids do better first thing at 8:30am mass because 10:30am is too close to lunch time. We knew it would be crowded and didn't want to get there too early because they wouldn't last long. When we got to church it was full:( I had the bright idea to go to the cry room/chapel that no one ever seems to use. Turns out, not such a good idea but we did get a seat. I'm not sure if the kids knew it was not in our routine to go to mass in there but they wouldn't sit and Nolan started taking his clothes off because it was too hot in there. We gave it a few minutes but decided it was best for everyone if we just left:(
The good news was, Ryan's aunt and uncle live across the street so we got to visit with them (we usually do not get togther on Easter with that side) and wish them a happy easter before heading to my parent's house.

Easter egg hunt at MoMo and BoBo's house. The kids participated in four that day!

After my parent's house, we decided to forego naps before we went to the next place. I was tired and needed a Starbucks so we got some coffee and looked back at both kids and realized they were asleep! I dropped Ryan off at his cousin's house and I drove around for a bit before parking at Washington park to work on my blog while enjoying my coffee:) Weird thing to do on Easter but the kids needed a nap. When they woke up, we met up with Ryan and enjoyed another hunt and some kite flying! Beautiful day!

St. Patrick's Day...the best holiday around here!

One of the many things I loved about Ryan when we first started dating and still do to this day is his family and their love for St. Patrick's Day! Nolan and Nora's Nana is 100% Irish and their Paw Paw is pretty close to that too... I know, I messed up the gene pool...my children are half mut!

It's not just about green beer and corn beef, it's about family and celebrating together. It is a lot less hectic than Christmas because you don't have the craziness of preparing for the day and getting all of your stuff done. You simply just enjoy the holiday and the company:)

We have had pre-parade St. Paddy's parties in the past but this one was a lot of fun because we got to have it in our new home! We had Ryan's two sisters and their families stay with us and enjoy the festivities for the weekend!

Thursday we went to the Sons and Daughter's of Erin dinner which is always a good time and kicks the weekend off right!  Friday we got ready for the party and welcomed our seven house guests. Saturday was filled with fun at the parade and party. Sunday we had brunch at Tara and Matt's house before the out-of-towners went back. Successful holiday if you ask me!

Memo, Aunt Kathy and I had already kicked the week off right by decorating our house and getting ready for the big party...couldn't have done it without their help and my parent's help with our kids!

Family of Ryan's mom's side (Conway/Brennan) decided to do a float this year for the parade and we had a blast walking with it!

Mal and Ryan passed out green carnations at the parade in memory of their dad. It was something he did whenever he was in the parade. What a great way to remember such a great Irishman!
